Budget Battle Continues

Budget Battle Continues

Governor Tony Evers is not going to share the state’s five-billion-dollars in stimulus money.

The governor yesterday vetoed a plan that would have given the Republican-controlled legislature some say over how the money was to be spent. The governor says he doesn’t want a political battle every time he decides to spend some of the money. Republicans say someone needs to provide some oversight for just how the governor plans to spend the cash. They worry it will be wasted.
