A Community Honors “Above & Beyond”

A Community Honors “Above & Beyond”

With a long-standing passion for serving the community, Jaclyn “Jackie”
Schueller’s story of serving can be traced back to when she was a young girl, after her father passed away, she helped care for her sister who was disabled. Jackie was born in Marshfield in 1947 to Leroy W. Behrens and Corrinne E. (Crazin) Behrens. She had one sister, Linda Behrens.

Upon graduating from Marshfield Senior High in 1965, she married her husband of 55 years, Donald Schueller. They have 4 children, Debra, Randy, Kevin and Kory. Together they owned and operated Schueller Construction for 50 years. Jackie was heavily involved with children, teaching at St. John’s School, a Cub Scout and Brownie leader and helping run the family business. Also, she has been and continues to be involved in the local Catholic parishes. She is currently sitting on the board for Sacred Heart Catholic Church Financial committee and their Building and Grounds
committee.

Jackie started coming to the Parks & Recreation Senior Center when it was relocated to the Marshfield Mall in 2016. She came to socialize and participate in the various activities, but soon began to help out. She became more involved after the Senior Center moved to the 2nd Street Community Center in 2018. She joined the Senior Center Council Board of Directors and later became the Secretary; and currently holds that position today. Jackie helps plan events, coordinates and cleans up after cards and pool. She volunteers with the Aging and Disability Resource Center meal site.

In January of 2020, after the Senior Center Coordinator retired, Jackie became more active in dealing with the day-to-day activities. When COVID-19 came, she was instrumental in making sure that everything was cleaned and disaffected. Jackie has become a staple and strong volunteer for the Park and Recreation Department’s Senior Center. She keeps a close eye on the people who come and go from the Center and is always willing to lend a hand. Jackie is a vital asset to our organization. Her commitment, energy and effort does not go unnoticed. On behalf of the City of Marshfield, thank you Jackie Schueller for your never-ending volunteerism. Jackie Schueller, 2020 Volunteer of the Year.
