Alcohol Believed to be Factor in Dunn Co. Crash

On Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 9:47 PM, the Dunn County Communications Center received a report of a head-on crash on US Highway 12/29 near the intersection of 670th Street in the Town of Red Cedar, East of Menomonie.

The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, and Menomonie Fire Department responded to the scene. Upon arrival, deputies determined that an eastbound 2015 Toyota Tundra crossed the center line and struck a westbound 2000 GMC Sierra. One operator attempted to flee the scene on foot but was apprehended by deputies within minutes of their arrival.

Two adults received non-life threatening injuries and were treated at an area hospital. Alcohol is believed to be contributing factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office
