A nearly idle COVID-19 field hospital at the State Fair Park in West Allis may soon be repurposed.
The site was originally converted and set up to treat COVID-19 patients but hasn’t had a patient since Christmas Eve. On Friday, state health officials said one option under consideration is to turn the location into a COVID-19 vaccination hub. The site is still in use as an outpatient clinic for those who receive antibody therapy infusions. No firm date has yet been set for a final decision in the matter.
