Vehicle Crash Leads to OWI

A Hayward man picked up a OWI after a vehicle crash.

29 year old Andrew J. Ferguson, has been arrested by the Wisconsin State
Patrol Spooner Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 1st offense, with one child in the vehicle under the age of 16. On Tuesday, December 28th, at a bit after 4 in the afternoon, A Wisconsin State Patrol trooper and a Washburn County deputy responded to a one vehicle crash on US HWY 63 in the Town of Springbrook, Washburn County.

While at the crash scene, the trooper observed that the driver, Mr.
Ferguson, showed signs of alcohol use and impairment. Mr. Ferguson was subsequently charged with operating while under the influence of an intoxicant while having a child passenger in the vehicle.

No one was injured in the crash. Mr. Ferguson and the seven-year-old passenger were transported to an area hospital to be examined. While at the hospital, Mr. Ferguson consented to chemical test of his blood.
