(Stimulus) Checks and Balances; On to the Senate

When it comes to the stimulus checks….and balances, we check in on Capitol Hill, where it’s now up to the Senate to decide whether to increase coronavirus relief payments from 600-dollars to two-thousand.

The House passed the measure with a two-thirds majority Monday, just days after President Trump demanded more cash for millions of Americans suffering from the pandemic.  It’s unclear whether it has the support to pass the Republican-controlled Senate.

 NBC’s Garrett Haake reports:

The 600-dollar checks were part of a large coronavirus relief package Congress overwhelmingly passed with bipartisan support last week.

When it comes to the timeline, the direct stimulus payments to Americans could start landing in bank accounts by the end of the week.  Tom Roberts reports.
