WI Connection to Nashville Bombing

There is a Wisconsin connection to the Christmas Day bombing in Nashville.

Former Milwaukee Assistant Police Chief Raymond Banks was staying in a hotel across the street from the explosion. He says he was tossed out of bed by the blast, and the TV fell off the wall. Banks and his family were able to make it out of their hotel afterward. Banks said he is grateful that no one in his family was seriously hurt.

Authorities are confirming that the man responsible for bombing in Nashville is dead.  NBC’s Morgan Chesky reports.

U.S. Attorney Donald Cochran said Warner was identified through DNA evidence at the scene.  Fortunately, no one else was killed when an RV exploded in downtown Nashville Friday.  Ahead of the blast, the RV began playing a recorded warning of an imminent bombing, giving police the chance to evacuate the area.

The explosion caused significant damage to dozens of buildings and businesses in the area.
