Governor Tony Evers is declaring a new state of emergency.
The governor today says the state can’t afford to stop mitigation efforts when it comes to the COVID-19 pandemic. Evers is extending the public health emergency until January. The governor is also re-issuing an emergency order requiring face masks in public places.
Wisconsin set another one day record when it comes to coronavirus cases. Health officials today confirmed nearly eight-thousand cases in a 24-hour period.
That’s about 900 more cases than reported on Tuesday. There were 52 additional deaths reported today, bringing the death toll over 27-hundred-and-90 residents. The positivity rate statewide today averaged about 40-percent.
