Wisconsin lawmakers are looking to have a say on Governor Evers’ latest coronavirus order.
Assembly Speaker Robin Vos yesterday requested the state’s Department of Health Services to submit the governor’s order to the legislature’s rule-making committee. That committee could vote to gut the order, or kill it all together. A number of Republican lawmakers have demanded a full special session to vote down the governor’s mask mandate, and the new order that limits bars, restaurants, and most stores in the state to just 25 percent of capacity.
On the other side of the issues, Western Wisconsin’s congressman says he agrees with the governor that people need to avoid large crowds.
Congressman Ron Kind yesterday said he supports Governor Evers’ order that limits crowds at bars, restaurants, and most shops in the state to just 25 percent of capacity. Kind says it is common sense for people to wear their masks, and stay away from crowded places until the coronavirus numbers in the state drop.
