New WI Budget to Address Unemployment Issues

Wisconsin plans to replace its unemployment insurance claims system in the next budget.

Governor Tony Evers said the state is still evaluating the system to create a better one. The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development reported yesterday, of nearly seven-million claims made since March 15th, about nine-percent were still in process.

The department has taken steps to keep up with processing claims like hiring more staff, expanding hours, and upgrading some technology.
