It was a bit after 1:30 on the afternoon of September 7th when the Sawyer County Dispatch Center received a 911 call of a car vs motorcycle crash on County Highway CC near fire number 8677N in the Town of Hunter.
Initial investigation and eye witness statements indicate that a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by 60 year old Kenneth A. Link of Elmwood, and his passenger 58 year old Carla L. Link, also of Elmwood, were traveling south on County Highway CC. The motorcycle crossed over the centerline and struck a northbound 2003 GMC Yukon operated by 63 year old Shawn D. Burton, of White Heath, IL.
The driver of the motorcycle sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The female passenger of the motorcycle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. The driver and passenger of the GMC were not injured.
The accident is currently under investigation by the Sawyer County Sheriffs Office and the Wisconsin State patrol.
