CORONAVIRUS COUNTS CLIMB IN WI; CASES IN ALL COUNTIES

Wisconsin set a record for positive coronavirus tests, negative coronavirus tests, and the number of tests given.

The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday reported 528 people who tested positive for the virus yesterday, and six-thousand-63 people who tested negative. Both of those are single-day records. DHS says Wisconsin also set a new record for daily tests processed, at nearly seven thousand.

Now, it’s recorded in all 72. The last county in Wisconsin without a confirmed case of COVID-19 now has its first patient.  Langlade County health officials in northeastern Wisconsin confirmed its first case this week.

Here in our area, there are no large outbreaks of the coronavirus in Eau Claire, but city-county health officials say the virus is slowly progressing. The latest update in Eau Claire shows 85 positive cases since March, and nearly four thousand negative cases. The focus now is tracking the virus as it spreads, and looking to see who is most at risk.
