WI UNEMPLOYMENT PAYMENTS APPROACH $1BILLION

Wisconsin is inching closer to a billion-dollars in unemployment payments.

The state’s Department of Workforce Development this week said that as of last week, the state has paid 941 million-dollars in unemployment benefits. That includes the extra 600 dollars per-week enhancer from the federal government. More than a half-million people in the state have applied for unemployment since the coronavirus outbreak began in March.
