THOUSAND YEAR VOTE GOES TO SUPREME COURT

THOUSAND YEAR VOTE GOES TO SUPREME COURT

Wisconsin’s Supreme Court is going to decide if former Governor Scott Walker’s thousand-year veto can stand.

The high court last week agreed to hear a challenge in the case. Governors in Wisconsin have the power to change or erase numbers inside the budget when it comes to spending money. Governor Walker changed the numbers inside the 2017 budget to extend the effective date of a new tax law til 3018 instead of 2018.

Hence the name, the thousand-year veto.
