ELK DEATH TRACED TO CORN

Wildlife experts with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources are blaming corn for the death of an elk in a state forest.

The elk died earlier this month near Tony, Wisconsin in Rusk County. DNR says it looks like the animal ate some corn that was still in the field. Corn can cause severe digestive problems for elk and deer. DNR says the elk was wearing a tracking device that alerted the state when it died.
