Republican lawmakers in Madison say the federal court doesn’t need to get involved in the legal back-and-forth over the state’s voter list.
awyers for the legislature yesterday asked a federal judge to drop the lawsuit from the League of Women Voters. Lawmakers say the League ‘rushed’ to go to federal court while state courts are still trying to sort-out a judge’s order to clean-up the state’s voter rolls.
The legislature says the League is trying to ‘interfere’ with state courts that have already ruled on the clean-up that could have 234 thousand voters in the state re-register before the next election.
