Eau Claire is taking the next step in building apartments for some of the city’s homeless. T
he city council last night okayed a new apartment building at the corner of Birch Street and River Prairie Drive that will have ‘workforce housing’ units and at least eight apartments for homeless people.
The apartments would also have shops on the first floor. Construction should start next spring.
