DNR URGES STATEWIDE CWD TESTING

Hunters in some spots in the Chippewa Valley have to test their deer for Chronic Wasting Disease, but regulators in Madison say all deer hunters should get the tests.

The Department of Natural Resources yesterday said deer hunters should test their deer so the state can see just how far CWD has spread. Two dozen counties in Wisconsin are required to test deer, while another two dozen or so regularly offer the tests. DNR says it’s not a bad idea for any deer hunter in any part of the state to get their deer tested.
