WI WEEKEND SPORTS NOTES

FROM THE DIAMOND TO THE FIELDS

The Brewers are getting some good news on injured outfielder Christian Yelich.  GM David Stearns says the reigning NL MVP will not need surgery after fracturing his kneecap fouling a ball of his leg earlier this week.  Yelich will need about eight to 10 weeks to recover.

It’s the home opener at Lambeau this weekend.  The Packers play the NFC North rival Vikings Sunday in Green Bay.  Left tackle David Bakhtiari is dealing with a back issue, leaving his status uncertain.  The Packers and Vikings are coming off Week One wins.

The 14th-ranked Badgers have a bye this weekend.  Wisconsin returns to action next Saturday at home against 10th-ranked Michigan.  Both teams are 2-and-0, although U-of-M needed double-OT to beat Army last weekend.  UW lost 38-13 last year in Ann Arbor.

Here is what the Wisconsin sports weekend looks like. Whether you are firing up the Instapot and planning your first Packers Party, rooting on the Crew, or waiting to jump around-here’s wishing you a fun weekend-on or off the bleachers and fields!
