Beware of anyone asking for gift cards in a text.
That’s the lesson from the latest round of scams working its way across Wisconsin. The sheriff in Manitowoc County says a local pastor reported that scammers used his name to target his flock. The scammers sent a text, claiming to be the pastor, and asking for gift cards for people in need. The gift cards went straight to the scammers.
