A Rice Lake man accused of hitting someone with his van has reached a plea deal.
A criminal complaint says a man told police he stepped out in front of a van driven by Richard Olson last August because he thought it was a taxi. A surveillance video shows the victim getting hit by the van but Olson initially denied hitting anyone. Last week Olson pleaded guilty to hit and run causing great bodily harm and operating a vehicle while revoked. He’s facing up to 16 years in prison.
