The man accused of Chippewa County’s weekend killing spree had handcuffs in his car.
Investigators yesterday say Ritchie German Jr. had handcuffs and more ammunition inside the car he took to Laile Vang’s home on Sunday.
You have likely heard the rumblings of a copycat crime. Chippewa County Sheriff Jim Kowalczyk said on Tuesday that evidence in German’s car leads him to think this case may have been inspired by the Jayme Closs case. Investigators say they are now focusing on the victim’s cell phones, hoping to figure out what pushed German to kill four people and shoot two others before killing himself.
