WI POLITICAL PEEK
  • Attorney General Josh Kaul is asking a powerful group of lawmakers to end the state’s involvement in a lawsuit to overturn the Affordable Care Act.  Kaul made the request yesterday, but it’s unclear whether the Republican-controlled committee will grant it.  Republican lawmakers supported former Governor Walker’s choice to join nearly 20 other states in suing to overturn the federal law.
  • A new poll is finding strong support for Governor Tony Evers’ agenda.  The Marquette University Law School poll released yesterday found that voter’s backed many of the Democratic governor’s positions.  Voters support Evers on health care, school funding, the minimum wage, criminal justice reform, marijuana legalization and redistricting.  Voters were less sure about whether they approve of the job Evers is doing, favoring GOP lawmakers efforts over Evers’.
