Altoona might not be ready to embrace a new gas station near Hillcrest Greens. The plan commission voted yesterday, but as the Leader-Telegram mentioned, the city plan commission recommended the construction of a Casey’s, but the car wash that was initially planned to be built with it will not be.
Some Hillcrest Greens residents opposed the new store, saying a gas station doesn’t fit their neighborhood. The city council will vote on whether or not to approve the project on November 29th.
