BARRON IN NATIONAL SPOTLIGHT; SEARCH FOR ANSWERS CONTINUES

Local police are providing updates on the nationwide search for 13-year-old Jayme Closs who went missing after her parents were found murdered inside their home Monday.

Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald says they’re continuing to get tips around the clock.  Closs’ family members were also at the sheriff’s briefing, visibly shaken, calling Jayme a totally sweet, innocent girl.  An AMBER Alert was issued for Jayme after someone at the Closs house called 9-1-1, leading to the discovery of the bodies.  Fitzgerald said the 9-1-1 call was unusual as the dispatcher was not able to speak with anyone on the other line, which is why officers went to the house.  They are still not releasing autopsy reports at this time.  Fitzgerald did not discuss a possible sighting of Jayme in Miami, which was later found to be not credible.

Meanwhile, a vigil was held last night at St. Peter Catholic Church in Cameron to remember James and Denise Closs and to pray for the return of their daughter Jayme, who has been missing ever since.  Jayme is considered to be endangered and authorities say every second in the search counts.
