RAIN, RAIN GO AWAY!

RAIN, RAIN GO AWAY!

Rain, rain go away…come again another day. Many places thinking that right about now as Governor Walker is declaring a state of emergency in some Wisconsin counties (Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, and Iron). Many people had to be evacuated after downed tree and power lines, along with mudslides and flooding damaged roads and bridges.

Here locally:

Heavy rains are causing rising river gauge readings on the Chippewa River in Eau Claire. Lower sections of the Chippewa River Trail in the city are closed. The river is expected to reach crest stage tomorrow morning, so we can expect the water over the Chippewa River Trail and Old Abe Trail at all street underpasses. Might want to take notes for your morning run or dog walk as well…as lower areas of Owen Park and Riverview park are also expected to flood.
