The average cost of regular gas in Wisconsin is two-dollars-and-23-cents today.  That’s nine-cents higher than a week ago and 25-cents higher than a month ago.  Triple-A says the national average per gallon is 2.37.  Drivers are paying 2.25 a gallon in Racine, 2.21 a gallon in Janesville, Oshkosh and Madison, here closer to our area we are hanging out at 2.26 in Eau Claire and 2.27 in La Crosse.

Working Towards a Better Future

The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development is helping inmates get jobs after their release. A job center was set up inside the Chippewa Valley Correctional Treatment Facility. It’s the fifth job center to open in Wisconsin’s prisons. Workforce Development says the job center helps inmates search for jobs, build their resumes, and set up interviews using secure computers before their released.

Crews Battle Fire at Local Business

The cold and snow didn’t make fighting a fire at the Indianhead Warehouse in Eau Claire last night any easier. Fire crews responded to the fire about 8:45 last night. There is no word yet on just how much damage the fire caused or what started it. No injures are reported and the fire remains under investigation.

High Hopes for the Midway

The warm days of summer are months away, but organizers in western Wisconsin are already looking ahead to festival season. Northern Wisconsin State Fair Director Rusty Volk says they’re planning for the fair this year, though he says they are hedging their bets on crowd size. Just about everything was canceled last summer because of the coronavirus. Organizers hope for better luck this summer.

WI Lawmakers Look to Capitol Security

There’s a new push for more and better security at the Wisconsin Capitol. State Senator Dan Feyen this week wrote a letter to Governor Evers and the state’s legislative leaders asking for tighter security at the statehouse. Miller Park Way Taps Out

There is no Miller Park, so there’s no need for Miller Park Way. The city of Milwaukee is changing part of Miller Park Way to Brewers Boulevard. The portion of the street in West Milwaukee will remain Miller Park Way. The ballpark is now known as American Family Field, so city leaders said they needed to change the street name.

WI Coronavirus Cases Climb

The Department of Health Services confirms over 27-hundred new cases of the coronavirus over the last day.  There have been a total of 516-thousand cases reported since the pandemic began.  An additional 42 deaths raises the number of Wisconsinites who have died from COVID-19 to five-thousand-290.
