You’re going to have to spend some more time at home with the family this Thanksgiving.  Kohl’s yesterday said it will be closed on Thanksgiving.  Kohl’s first closed on Thanksgiving in 2020 because of the coronavirus, but has decided to keep the new tradition going.  Other big stores are doing the same.  Target says it will be closed on Thanksgiving this year as well.

Gov. Evers Talks Abortion Legislation

Governor Evers says he wouldn’t sign a law allowing for abortion exemptions because it doesn’t go far enough.  The governor told a crowd in Milwaukee yesterday that he doesn’t want exemptions for abortion, he wants abortion to be fully legal in the state.  Wisconsin is one of about two dozen states that saw a near-total ban on abortion go into effect when the U.S. Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Favre Claims Smear Campaign

Brett Favre says he’s been “unjustly smeared’ by the coverage of his ties to Mississippi’s welfare fraud case.  Favre told Fox News yesterday that he simply tried to help his alma mater and that he didn’t know the million-plus dollars he was paid came from welfare funds.  Favre has never been charged, but Mississippi’s former state welfare director has been.  She and Favre worked on and texted about securing money for the University of Southern Mississippi and a new volleyball

Grant Co. Sheriff Looking For Information In Horse Hit and Run

 An investigation’s underway after a horse is hit and killed by a car in Potosi. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office says a semi truck hit and killed a horse on State Highway 61 last Thursday.  The sheriff’s office says it’s looking for the owner of the horse.  Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office.

License Plate Violation Leads to OWI

A Rice Lake man picks up an OWI in Eau Claire. On October 10th at 6:04pm a Trooper with the Wisconsin State Patrol, Eau Claire Post, stopped a vehicle on I94 westbound near mile marker 121 in Jackson County for a cracked windshield and license plate violation. The Trooper detected indicators of criminal activity from the driver and vehicle. A probable cause search was completed on the vehicle.
