It is Juneteenth across the Union. It was in 1865, Union Major General Gordon Granger landed in Galveston, Texas with the news that the Civil War had ended and that those who were enslaved were now free. The news came two and a half years after President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation. The date is now known as Juneteenth or Emancipation Day. Read MoreThe U.S. Marshals are part of the search for a domestic violence murder suspect in Milwaukee. The Marshals last week got a warrant for 33-year-old Anthony Ross. He’s wanted in last Sunday’s shooting death of Shadea Green. Investigators are not saying what led-up to that shooting, but say it is domestic violence related. Ross’ warrant is for possession of a firearm by an out-of-state felon. The Marshals are asking for help in tracking him down.

Read MoreWisconsin saw a busier turkey season. The state’s Department of Natural Resources on Friday said hunters bagged just over 42 thousand turkeys during the spring season. That is up seven percent from the five year average. Turkey season actually started back on April 15th, and ran until this month with a few breaks in between. Hunters can start to apply for next year’s turkey season last this year, in December.

The company last week recalled 42 thousand pounds of its Beddar with Cheddar sausages because they may contain small bits of plastic. Johnsonville says the sausages were sent to Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, Colorado, Oklahoma and Texas. There are no reports of anyone getting sick because of the sausages, and the company says you can take them back to the store or just throw them out.
