 A fire that caused significant damage to a Delafield home was likely caused by a family pet. That’s according to fire investigators, who say one of the family’s two dogs or cat put their paws on a knob, turning on the gas stove at the home along Northview Road on Monday morning. Something on top of the stove then caught fire. Two people suffered minor injuries. The family thinks their cat may be the culprit. The National Fire Protection Association

Today is the fourth annual Day of the Badger fundraising event for University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Alumni and other school supporters are coming together to raise money for over 100 campus programs.  Badger fans are being encouraged to wear red today and tomorrow in support.  You can find more information online with an easy click here.

Hy-Vee is recalling its boxed hamburger chili macaroni skillet meals sold in Wisconsin because of allergy concerns.  Hy-Vee says the food includes dairy but it’s not on the allergen list.  The product is being removed from Hy-Vee shelves in Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Minnesota.  You can also return the product for a refund.

Carson Park Drive will be closed to thru traffic on Wednesday, March 29, and Thursday, March 30, 2023at 7 am through 4 pm (pending weather). Forestry work will be completed during this closure. Accessfrom the east will be maintained to Museum and Birch Point Pavillion. Access from west will bemaintained to Braun’s Bay.

The Wisconsin Veterans Museum Foundation gets a ten-million dollar donation to go toward the new Wisconsin Veterans Museum in Madison.  The money comes from philanthropist W. Jerome Frautschi, who says the new museum will help his goal of creating a cultural arts district downtown.  The museum will cost 120-million dollars and it’ll be located in the same place as the current one on West Mifflin Street.

On March 26, 2023 at approximately 6:57 PM, the Dunn County Communication Center received a call from an individual who advised of a structure fire at a residence with a person still trapped in the residence.  A 42-year-old La Crosse man is facing meth delivery charges after police found six-thousand-dollars of the drugs at his home. Alfredo Almanza was also charged with maintaining a drug house, possession of drug paraphernalia, and illegally obtaining prescription drugs. He told police he was not aware of any drugs in the home before admitting a small amount of meth was there. Police also seized over eleven-hundred dollars in cash, a digital scale, and 51 Clonazepam pills.

One person is hospitalized after a crash in Pierce County. The sheriff’s office said yesterday the driver of a truck was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota after he was injured in the crash with an SUV. The 40-year-old is from River Falls and his six-year-old passenger was not hurt. The SUV was driven by a 17-year-old from River Falls, and police say that person was not hurt.

An investigation is underway following the death of a University of Wisconsin Madison student.  School officials say the student died yesterday outside of Smith Residence Hall.  No foul play is suspected.  The cause of death hasn’t been released.
