Crash Under Investigation in Jackson County

Wisconsin State Patrol Troopers responded to a one vehicle rollover crash on US Highway 12 in theTownship of Alma Center. The 81 year old male driver of the vehicle sustained life threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to a landing zone and then flown to Marshfield Hospital. A medical condition may have been a factor in the cause of the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the WI State Patrol.

Badgers Fall, Now 1-and-1

The Badgers made it close but couldn’t come back from a big first-half deficit as they fell to Washington State, 31-22 Saturday in Pullman, Washington. The Cougars raced out to a 24-9 lead at halftime. Wisconsin stormed back with 13 third-quarter points to make it a two-point game but that was a close as the Badgers could get. Washington State added another touchdown in the fourth quarter. The Badgers are now 1-and-1 and will host Georgia Southern at Camp Randall

WI Vets Set for Badger Honor Flight

Ninety Wisconsin veterans will leave Dane County Airport this morning for this year’s fourth Badger Honor Flight.  The men and women who are veterans of the Korean and Vietnam wars will fly out at 9 a.m. and return at 9 p.m.  Honor flights give veterans from World War Two, Korea, and Vietnam an opportunity to see memorials erected in their honor.  Today’s Badger Honor Flight is the fourth of six scheduled this year.

Death of an Inmate Prompts Investigation

The Rock County Sheriff’s Office and Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating after an inmate was found dead in his cell at the Rock County Jail Friday morning. An officer found the man unresponsive around 8 a.m. and started performing life-saving measure until paramedics arrived and took over. They weren’t able to revive him.

Bond Set at $1Million

Bail is set at one million dollars for the suspect in the physical and sexual assault of a UW Madison student. Police say 26-year-old Brandon Thompson admitted beating the woman, saying he blacked out. When he came to, she was on the ground. Thompson is accused of pretending to be a bystander, leading others to the victim’s body after she was assaulted. Fuel Jumps at Some Pumps

Gas prices jump nearly 20 cents in some parts of Wisconsin overnight. The average cost for a gallon of unleaded is up three cents from yesterday, but cities like La Crosse and Superior are bigger hikes.  Triple-A says there are three factors–scheduled refinery maintenance, OPEC cutting production, and higher crude oil prices.

The White House says there isn’t a specific date for her visit, but says Wisconsin’s capitol will be a stop during her “Fight for Our Freedoms College Tour.” The goal of the trip is to call students to action on issues such as LGBTQ+ equality, reproductive freedom, gun safety, climate change, and more.
