Folks in Eau Claire are not sold on the latest wheel tax proposal from the city. Many who spoke at last night’s city council meeting came-out against the new tax. City leaders want to add 24 dollars to the cost of registering a car in Eau Claire as a way to raise millions for road repairs. Many people said they simply cannot afford to give the city more money. The full city council will vote on the tax tonight.

Read MoreThe Wisconsin State Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash on US Highway 8 at Pinewood Road. First responders from multiple agencies worked to extricate the trapped driver of one of the vehicles utilizing the Jaws of Life. Both east and west bound lanes were shut down and the driver was airlifted to a local hospital with life threating injuries. The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
