It’s only Halloween, but we now know the theme for this year’s State Capitol Holiday Tree. Governor Tony Evers yesterday announced that the theme will be ‘175 Years of Wisconsinites.’ The governor is also asking school kids across the state to use that theme to create ornaments for the tree. While we have the theme, we’re going to have to wait for the tree. The governor says it won’t go up until the day before Thanksgiving.

It happened overnight into Sunday morning County Highway W, near Caledonia. Deputies say a man had stopped to help when another car hit him and killed him. Officers say 20 of the 24 people arrested Saturday night were students, most of them for either drinking or having alcohol. In all, police say 60 people were ejected, again mainly for alcohol-related reasons. Madison Police say four people were treated for having blood alcohol levels of point-two percent or higher.
