Crews were on scene of a fire Wednesday. It was on November 29th, when the Rice Lake Fire Department was dispatched to a reported barn fire at 2776 23rd Street in the Township of Oak Grove. The first fire department unit arrived to find a two story barn, fully involved in fire with complete roof collapse. Crews worked to control and contain the blaze. The Buy Local, Buy Wisconsin grants are 50-thousand dollars maximum per company, and come from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. Fitchburg’s Eplegaarden Orchard was given money to expand offerings using their fresh fruit, and Lov-It Foods in Green Bay got money to help sell newly-branded artisanal cheeses. Three other companies in Mequon, Manitowoc, and Mayville were also awarded money.

The license plate would require a yearly 25-dollar donation to the organization to be automatically added to car registration fees.
