Body Recovered, Investigation Underway

An investigation is underway into a body found in the water in Hudson.  Police got a call Saturday about it discovered near Lake Front Park.  No one is identifying the person just yet or saying how they got to the park, and the medical examiner isn’t revealing cause of death either.  Investigators don’t believe there’s any threat to the public.

Injuries Reported in EC House Fire

On Sunday March 3rd the Eau Claire Fire Department responded to 2900 Block of Uranus Ave for a reported structure fire. While units were enroute dispatch advised the house was full of smoke. Truck 8 was the first arriving unit on scene and reported smoke was visible from the front of the structure. Search Continues for Missing WI Child

The Wisconsin National Guard is now a part of the search for the missing Manitowoc County boy. Elijah Vue, 3, is still missing.(Two Rivers Police Department) Guard troops and the DNR joined the search for three-year-old Elijah Vue over the weekend. Vue has been missing since February 20th. His mother and her boyfriend are being held on child neglect charges, but they both say they don’t know where the little boy is. The FBI and local authorities have been searching

Orange Cones Kick off Years Long Construction Projects

Crews are starting work today on the I-94, Highway 53 interchange this week.  Wis-DOT says it will take a couple of years to remove and replace the pavement on I-94 from Otter Creek to Mallard Road, resurface the I-94/US 53 interchange, and widen the I-94 bridge over Otter Creek among other things.  The work is expected to cost just under 70-million-dollars, and isn’t scheduled to wrap up until 2026.

The first lady was once again in the Milwaukee suburbs, and was once again talking about abortion.  Jill Biden made a campaign stop in Waukesha yesterday. She told the crowd at the Expo Center that Wisconsin put her husband into the White House four years ago, and she hopes Wisconsin does it again this year.  This is the first lady’s third visit to the state in the past six months. You’ve heard of goat yoga, but how about bunny yoga?  Folks at the Chippewa Humane Association and the Hoppy House Rabbit Rescue held a bunny yoga session over the weekend to try and get people to adopt some bunnies.  Hoppy House co-founder Nicole Evans-Estenson says the Humane Association recently had a mother bunny and all of her babies dumped on their doorstep.  They are now trying to find new homes.  You can find out more about the bunnies, or bunny

Gov. Evers Rejects Three of Four Tax Cut Bills

Governor Evers has rejected three of the four bills making up a 2-point-1-billion-dollar tax cut package. The fourth bill is still on the table and Evers has been on the record giving positive remarks about it. Evers pointed to the financial irresponsibility of the bills that would have gutted the state’s rainy day fund and would have resulted in the federal government looking to recoup funds distributed under the American Rescue Plan Act. Finalists Announced for UW La Crosse Chancellor Role

The finalists for Chancellor at UW La Crosse have been announced by the University. They are: interim chancellor Betsy Morgan, James Beeby the provost of Keene State and College in Keene, New Hampshire, and Christopher Olsen the provost of Indiana State University. They will be participating in campus forums from Monday to Wednesday this week with a final decision to be made by the end of the month.
