Trempealeau Co. Man Facing Multiple Charges

A man in Trempealeau County is accused of shooting a deer out of season and carrying methamphetamine. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources says they got a report of a deer shot in Galesville. They say Tony Lorenz admitted to shooting the deer and gave them the gun he used, which had a silencer on it. Governor Evers has scuttled the latest plan to deal with PFAS contamination in the state. The governor yesterday vetoed the proposal from Republican lawmakers because he said it included a loophole for polluters. Republicans say the governor’s definition of polluter includes anyone who finds any PFAS contamination on their land or in their water, even if the chemicals came from somewhere else. Research Connects Dairy Microbiome Environment and Farmers’ Health

A recent research project connects farmers and health. Central Wisconsin dairy farmers shared many of the same microscopic organisms as their cows that may lead to greater protection against illnesses like allergic rhinitis, asthma, eczema and diarrheal diseases, according to a study led by Marshfield Clinic Research Institute. Police Chase Ends In Arrest

On Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at approximately 8:08 AM, the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office was advised of avehicle pursuit initiated by the Wisconsin State Patrol (WSP) that was entering Dunn County westbound on US Highway 12 toward Elk Mound. The suspect vehicle had reportedly fled after a Trooperapproached it when making a traffic stop. The vehicle crashed into the ditch when exiting the freewayand then re-entered the roadway and fled westbound toward Dunn County at speeds in excess of 100MPH.

Testing Troubles Some Lawmakers

At least one Republican lawmaker in Wisconsin says the decision not to require the SAT or the ACT at the University of Wisconsin is denying reality.
