It’s prison time for an armed robbery suspect in Chippewa Falls. A judge sentenced 24-year-old Elijah Johnson to six-and-a-half years in prison. He was convicted of kicking his way into an apartment in the 700 block of Harding Avenue in January of last year. The person who lived there said Johnson pointed a gun at him, then took his PlayStation Five.
Read MoreBloomer was one of several communities across Wisconsin to see a weekend wildfire. Crews responded Saturday to a farm field off of 87th Street. The field burned, and did some damage. There are no reports of any injuries. Firefighters say Saturday’s high winds helped fuel the fire.

Only two counties in far northern Wisconsin, Vilas and Oneida, are not included. The DNR says dry brush and high weekend winds made for perfect conditions for wildfires. In fact, firefighters dealt with more than 30 fires across the state Saturday and Sunday.

Read MoreState investigators are now handling Friday’s officer-involved shooting in Grand Chute. Police there say things started with a car crash, and escalated from there. Officers say a man started fighting with them. One officer tried to use a Taser, and when that failed, another officer shot the man. Police say the wounded man was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The state’s Department of Justice is investigating the shooting.

Anderson has not made his five-million dollar bail and is in the custody of the Milwaukee County Jail.
