A traffic violation leads to another OWI for a 48 year old Fredrick man. On May 18th, 2024, at approximately 12:40 a.m. a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper initiated a traffic stop on CTH B at Lind Road near Siren for a traffic violation. Upon contact with the vehicle and the driver, the trooper observed signs of impairment. A subsequent investigation was conducted. Berthold entered into a plea deal in which he pleaded guilty to second-degree homicide in the death of his 77-year-old wife, Diane, last July.
