An investigation is underway after human skeletal remains were found in the Town of Two Rivers over the weekend.  A local deer hunter discovered the remains Saturday and authorities are working to identify them.  Manitowoc County Sheriff Dan Hartwig is aware of the ongoing case of three-year-old Elijah Vue, who went missing in February.  Investigators are unable to confirm if the remains are related to this case.

A Minnesota man is dead after drowning over the weekend at Kinnickinnic State Park.  The incident happened Sunday at the state park in Clifton Township.  The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office says Keith Taylor dove off a diving board of a parked pontoon and didn’t initially resurface.  Family and friends quickly recovered Taylor’s body, but he was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.

No one is hurt following a house fire in Eau Claire.  The blaze broke out yesterday at a home on East Grand Avenue.  Two cats were rescued from the house and the fire caused around 75-thousand-dollars worth of damage.  Investigators continue to look into the exact cause of the blaze.

Forty-two people in Wisconsin are sick after eating eggs linked to a Wisconsin farm, in the midst of a multi-state Salmonella outbreak.  The Centers for Disease Control says 65 people in nine states have been infected with the Salmonella strain. The recall includes all eggs in containers labeled with Milo’s Poultry Farms or Tony’s Fresh Market, regardless of expiration date or type of egg.  The eggs were sold through distributors and retailers based in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan. Next year’s Ride Across Wisconsin will start in Eau Claire. Typically the bike ride starts in La Crosse and ends in the Milwaukee area. The event’s Facebook page says the first day will start with a victory lap around the Eau Claire and Chippewa rivers to celebrate the event’s tenth anniversary. September 6, 2024, at 9:10 p.m., the Barron County Sheriff’s Department 911 center received a call of a two vehicle crash just south of Haugen on Hwy SS.  Deputies from the Barron County Sheriff’s Department along with Rice Lake Fire Department, Marshfield Medical Center Ambulance, WI State Patrol and Life Link Helicopter all responded  to the scene.  Initial investigation shows a head on crash occurred, causing one vehicle to roll over and start on  fire. The suspect in an Eau Claire homicide last month is dead.  Police identified Scott Jenkins as a suspect in the killing of Michelle Jenkins, who was found shot to death August 29th inside her home on Gilbert Avenue.  Officers tried to pull over Scott’s vehicle Friday on 1-90 near Highway 43.  He was found dead in his vehicle with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
