La Crosse Co. Homicide Under Investigation

One person is dead, and one person is in custody after a homicide in La Crosse County.  The sheriff’s office yesterday said it got a 911 call from the Town of Shelby.  When they arrived, deputies found a woman who was dead.  The sheriff’s office says deputies then arrested 39 year old Zachary Fritz in connection with her death. Chippewa Co. Court Case in Limbo

Lawyers for the now-teenager who’s accused of killing Lily Peters continue to fight to keep his case out of adult court. Both the defense and prosecution have filed their briefs with the appellate court. Number of Injured Grows in Madison Shooting

Madison Police say more people were hurt than first thought in Sunday’s shooting at The Lux. The city’s police department yesterday said 12 people were hurt in the shooting. Officers say 10 people were grazed by bullets, one person was injured by broken glass, and another hurt their shoulder while trying to get away from the gunfire. Gov. Evers Looks to Add Millions to UW

Wisconsin’s governor is telling the state’s university leaders that he wants nearly a billion-dollars more for the UW next year. Governor Tony Evers told UW regents last week that he plans to ask lawmakers for 800-million dollars more for the university. That’d be 400-million in each year of the state’s two-year budget. Evers says the University of Wisconsin is at a “critical junction,” and needs significant investments to prevent “further degradation.” The governor’s request comes after lawmakers agreed earlier this

There is a search for the owners of some wandering Peacocks in western Wisconsin. The sheriff in Dunn County took to Facebook yesterday to ask about the peacocks that were spotted wandering near Boyceville. The two birds were last spotted on someone’s back porch.
