State of Emergency Declared for WI Counties Following Flooding

Governor Tony Evers has declared a state of emergency for several northeast Wisconsin Counties. The counties include: Outgamie County,Winnebago County, Calumet County, and Waupaca County, which are all still recovering from flooding last week. The state of emergency aims to help the affected counties access resources for flood relief. Last Call Extended, MKE Plans for RNC

Milwaukee’s last call hours are extended for some bars and restaurants during the Republican National Convention. A state law passed this year allows establish, establishments to stay open and serve until 4 a.m. from July 15th -19th. Bar closing typically happens at 2 a.m. in Milwaukee.  Some establishments are also bulking up security and staff on hand to handle the 50–thousand people expected for the RNC. Goodness, Gracious Great Ball of Fire! Meteor Streaks Through WI Skies (video available)

A fireball that was seen streaking through the sky on Thursday night stirred up theories from Dane County residents on social media. After much speculation the fireball was confirmed to be a meteor by the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences Department. New Medical Center Opens in Eau Claire

There’s a new Mayo Clinic Health System Center in Eau Claire. The new Diagnostic Imaging and Sports Medicine Center aims to diagnose and care for injuries, and offer rehab services and sports performance training. X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans will be available at the center in the Sonnentag Complex. It’ll be available for students and student athletes as well as the community. Seeking Public’s Help in Dog Bite Incident

The Eau Claire City-County Health Department is asking for your help to find a dog that bit a boy, Thursday, July 11th, 2024, around 6:30/7:00pm. The bite happened near the intersection of Erin St. and Birch St. The dog was described to be solid color, dark tan or brown, medium size (approximately 50 lbs.). Drop Box Available 24/7 in Eau Claire Co. Jail Lobby

The Eau Claire County community can now use a new medication drop box to freely and easily dispose of their unwanted or expired medications. The new drop box is available to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The drop box is located in the lobby of the Eau Claire County Jail, 710 2nd Ave., Eau Claire.
