Highway 23 in the Dells is getting a facelift. Governor Evers announced yesterday that Wis-DOT is moving ahead with a four-and-a-half million-dollar resurfacing project. That means Highway 23 will see work starting today. The resurfacing work will be in two stages, with the first stage to close the highway. Governor Tony Evers signed executive order #235 ordering the flags of the United States and the state of Wisconsin to be flown at half-staff today in honor of retired Major General Jerald David Slack. The retired Major General Slack passed away on May 18th, at the age of 78. Attorney General Josh Kaul announced a settlement with Wisconsin Whey Protein Inc. requiring it to pay $350-thousand. The settlement is in relation to Wisconsin’s wastewater and stormwater law violations from the corporations operation of a cheese and whey plant in Darlington, Wisconsin. The settlement was approved by the Lafayette County Circuit Court on July 11th. Systems around the world are being affected by a global cyber outage. Airlines, hospitals, banks and media companies have been struggling to get back online. Alex McGough’s career with the Green Bay Packers has ended. The Packers announced Friday they had waived McGough injured, meaning they will release him once he is recovered from an unspecified injury or reached an injury settlement.
