The state’s Department of Natural Resources says the four killed more than 100 deer in Fond du Lac, Dodge, and Washington counties between the spring of 2023 and July of this year. Prosecutors in Fond du Lac County are handling the case. Investigators say the four took selfies with the deer they shot, and even made videos that chronicled their illegal hunts.

Leavitt said he is leaving so UW-Oshkosh can have the ‘fresh vision and inventiveness it deserves.’ Leavitt has not been popular with Oshkosh faculty members because of the spending cuts he’s supported. Leavitt is also leaving as Oshkosh continues to struggle to bring kids to campus, and to get them to graduate. Leavitt has been chancellor in Oshkosh since 2014.
