It’s probation for the man who threatened to shoot-up the Chippewa County courthouse over a child custody case. A judge yesterday handed down the sentence for Harley Alcala. He pleaded guilty to felony bail jumping and making threats. Prosecutors charged Alcala after he threatened to ‘shoot-up’ the courthouse last year. Alcala will spend the next four years on probation, and must undergo mental health evaluation, and must stay sober.

The suspect in last month’s police shooting in Wisconsin Rapids is looking at a two million-dollar bond. A Wood County judge yesterday set Clinton Mayotte’s bond at seven figures. Police say Mayotte first fired at Portage County deputies following a domestic violence call back on August 20th. Investigators say he then fled into Wisconsin Rapids, where he shot after officers again. Eventually he was found on the roof of a building near 9th and Grape Street. Police used a drone

Police in Eau Claire say they’ve arrested a local for a string of break-ins near the UW-Eau Claire campus last spring. Officers arrested Domanick Abrams, from Eau Claire, and his girlfriend Racquel Krueger, from Altoona. Prosecutors filed charges against the two yesterday. Police say they are responsible for at least nine burglaries in the Randall Park area that happened in May and June. Darrell Brooks’ prison sentences continue to grow. A judge in Milwaukee yesterday sentenced Brooks to nine years behind bars for running over the mother of his children just weeks before he plowed through the Waukesha Christmas Parade. Investigators say he used the same red SUV in the attack on his children’s mother as he did in the Christmas Parade attack. The nine-year sentence is just his latest, but it won’t make any difference. Brooks is serving six consecutive life sentences

The candidates who are running for congress in western Wisconsin say they want to debate, they just haven’t agreed to when and where. Both Republican Congressman Derrick Van Orden and Democratic challenger Rebecca Cooke say they want to answer questions about their race. Neither have set a date. There’s a new plan for Camp Randall Stadium’s old memorial bricks. Kind of. The bricks are going to be removed to make way for a new indoor practice facility. But UW athletic director Chris McIntosh yesterday said all of the bricks will be saved. Wisconsin is getting part of seven-point-three-billion dollars for clean energy improvements in rural communities.  The federal funding will go toward bringing cleaner, more affordable electricity for about five million rural households in 23 states.  The projects will also bring about 45-hundred permanent jobs and 16-thousand construction jobs in these communities.
