Ballot at the Bench: WI High Court Take the Case

Robert Kennedy Jr.’s ballot fate is now in the hands of Wisconsin’s liberal-majority Supreme Court. Justices on Friday agreed to decide Kennedy’s ballot access case. He is arguing that Wisconsin law creates two different timelines to get off the ballot, one for Republicans and Democrats, and another for independent candidates.  A Dane County judge has already ruled against him. Real Life Concerns With WI AI

Wisconsin is looking at another AI project. The state’s economic development arm, the WEDC, is putting together a concept paper for a new manufacturing AI effort. Environmental Groups Opposed to New Data Center

Environmental groups in Wisconsin are worried about Microsoft’s new data center in southeast Wisconsin. The Sierra Club and about a dozen others wrote a letter to Microsoft last week saying the plan to use methane gas powered power plants to feed the data center’s energy needs is a step backwards. Malik Willis got the Packers another win. Willis threw for a touchdown and ran for another in yesterday’s 30-14 drubbing of the Tennessee Titans. Willis again subbed-in for the injured Jordan Love. Green Bay’s defense was dominant yesterday, grabbing eight sacks and smothering the Titans offense. The Packers are back home next week to take on the Vikings. Committee to Determine Fate of Former Chancellor

A University of Wisconsin Board of Regents committee is determining the fate of a tenured UW-La Crosse professor who admittedly produces and appears in porn videos with his wife. Doctor Joe Gow is on paid administrative leave since he was fired as the school’s chancellor in December. Gow, who says he has no plans to produce any more such video, claims the First Amendment gives him the right to produce pornographic material. Baldwin Hits Campaign Trail

Senator Tammy Baldwin is getting a boost from the “other” finalist in the race to be Kamala Harris’ running mate.  Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro joined Baldwin on Saturday at a “meet and greet” in Richland Center.  The town of 51-hundred is in Richland County, about 60 miles west of Madison.  Shapiro referred to Wisconsin and his home state as “so-called blue wall states” and said it was important to “show up everywhere.”  Richland County voted for Baldwin in 2018, but

Estranged Husband Arrested, Charged with Murder

The estranged husband of Crystal Rasch is under arrest in connection with her death.  The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office said Zachariah Rasch of Clyman is being charged with first-degree intentional homicide with a domestic abuse enhancer.  He is also charged with hiding a corpse.  Shortly after Crystal Rasch had been reported missing in late June, the Sheriff’s Office reclassified the case from missing persons to a death investigation.  Zachariah had been arrested in June after admitting he lied to police

UTV Crash Under Investigation

On Friday, September 20, 2024 at approximately 6:39 p.m. the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office along with the Augusta Police Department responded to the 500 block of Camp Rd. in the Village of Fairchild for a single UTV crash with injury.
