On Saturday, December 7th, 2024, the Marshfield Police Department responded to a call regarding the discovery of human remains in a field adjacent to W. McMillan St, near N. St. Joseph’s Ave in the City of Marshfield. Upon arrival, officers secured the scene and initiated an investigation. Grant Money Set to Address Addiction in WI

Wisconsin is getting millions more to heal people who are dealing with opioid addiction. Attorney General Josh Kaul’s office on Friday said his office received a seven million-dollar grant from the federal government to help get more people into treatment Kaul said the hope is to get people help before someone overdoses, ends up in jail, or dies. The money is likely going to existing programs, as opposed to creating new ones.

Sell Out Crowd Hits High Note for UWEC Holiday Concert

It was a sell-out crowd for the 50th annual UW-Eau Claire Holiday Concert. The Pablo Center was filled to capacity yesterday. The concert once again showcased the UW-Eau Claire Wind Symphony, Orchestra, Concert Choir, Symphonic Choir, Women’s Concert Chorus, and the Singing Statesmen. The concert is a charity fundraiser, and yesterday’s sold-out audience will mean a big check for student scholarships and the university’s music department. UWEC Coach Enters Hall of Fame

UW-Eau Claire’s Ken Anderson is now a hall-of-famer. Anderson was named to the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame just before Saturday’s game against UW-Superior. Anderson spent 27 years at UW-Eau Claire head coach, and won 14 conference titles during that time. He also made 15 trips to the NAIA Tournament. Anderson retired as coach in 1995.

***UPDATE***The deceased individuals are identified as 72 year old Larry Rene, of rural Fall Creek and 52 year old LauraFrasher, of Fairchild.
