An Eau Claire organization is celebrating eleven years of activism in the Chippewa Valley.  The Joining Our Neighbors Advancing Hope, or JONAH organization brings people together to talk about issues of social justice, including immigration and affordable housing.  The group works to bring out change by pulling from various resources and partnerships in the community.  Officials with JONAH say it’s not a political or religious group, but a group that brings people together to take action.

We now have a little more information out of Barron County. Authorities are identifying vehicles of interest in connection with the disappearance of 13-year-old Jayme Closs.  Closs hasn’t been seen for a week, and her parents were found murdered.  Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said surveillance video has caught two vehicles that were in the area of the Closs home at the time of the incident. A golf course owner from Colfax is dead after a two-vehicle crash near Lake Denton.  The Wisconsin State Patrol says 56-year-old Scot Miller and seven other people were involved in the crash on Saturday afternoon on eastbound Interstate 90.  The three other people in Miller’s car all suffered life-threatening injuries, while four people in the other car involved were uninjured.  So far, Miller is the only death. 

An Elkhorn man is getting a new kidney thanks to a post that went viral on Twitter.  The Journal Sentinel reports Lenny Zweig was pictured at a Brewers game back in April with a t-shirt asking people to share their spare kidney.  Since then, the post has been shared over 18-thousand times and resulted in the pairing of Zweig with Emily Nowak who is donating one of her kidneys to save his life.  Zweig’s surgery is expected to take place

Bucky gets puck-y…The UW women’s hockey team is the new number one team in the NCAA.  The Badgers received all 15 first place votes in the U.S. College Hockey Online poll today after defending national champion Clarkson dropped its first game of the season last Friday. Wisconsin is now eight-and-oh on the season.  This is the fifth straight season the Badgers have received a first place ranking.

New details are out surrounding the disappearance of 13-year-old Jayme Closs who went missing after her parents were found murdered inside their home last Monday.  Officials are revealing the 911 call placed from the Closs household the day of the murders came from the phone belonging to mom Denise Closs.  Dispatchers say they were not able to speak to anyone directly, but could hear a disturbance going on in the background.  After the call was disconnected, they attempted to call

Pets and their owners are getting into the Halloween spirit.  The annual Strut Your Mutt Howl-O-Ween event was held yesterday afternoon at the Hobbs Ice Arena boat landing in Eau Claire.  Around 25 pets and 50 people participated in the event, which included a costume contest and a walk along the Chippewa River Trail.

The Brewers are looking to the future after falling one game short of the World Series.  Milwaukee experienced a disappointing five-to-one loss Saturday night to the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game Seven of the National League Championship Series.  Officials with the team say they see a bright future for the team.  The Dodgers will take on the Boston Red Sox in the World Series.

Both candidates vying for the District 23 State Senate are bringing their messages to Chippewa Falls.  Chris Kapsner spoke with voters yesterday during an event at By the Willow, joined by former Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton.  His Republican opponent Kathy Bernier was also in Chippewa Falls yesterday, appearing with Governor Walker.
