DOCUMENTARY TO DETAIL WAUSAU MURDER

A documentary is set to air this weekend detailing the murder of a Wausau teenager.  Breanna Schneller was stabbed to death by her fiancé’s co-worker inside her apartment on May 2nd, 2009 when she was 18-years-old.  Now Schneller’s case will be detailed on an episode of Discovery Channel’s Investigation Discovery.  Raul Ponce-Rocha has been convicted of Schneller’s murder and is serving a life sentence.

GETTING TO KNOW YOUR PACKER PICKS

The Green Bay Packers are bolstering their defense after picking two defensive players in the first round of the NFL Draft.  Last night the Packers went with Michigan defensive end Rashan Gary with their first pick at number 12.  They then traded up to the 21st pick and took Maryland safety Darnell Savage Junior.  Green Bay will pick 12th in the second round tonight.

THREE PEOPLE CHARGED IN DEATH OF BARRON MAN

Investigators in Minnesota and prosecutors in Barron County are shedding a bit more light on the death of a Barron man.  Police in Sandstone, Minnesota say 36-year-old Christopher Etchison died last weekend at a ‘party gone bad.’  Prosecutors in Barron yesterday charged three people for stealing from Etchison.  They say any charges surrounding his death will have to come from Minnesota.

JUDGE THROWS THE HOMEWORK BOOKS AT LOCAL CRIMINAL

A young man in Eau Claire is getting a homework assignment instead of a jail sentence.  A judge yesterday sentenced Jared Beaulieu to write two essays, one on making Eau Claire a better community and another on integrity.  Beaulieu pleaded guilty to a lesser charge after breaking into a gas station and Dairy Queen back in December.

REWARD OFFERED IN POISONING CASE

A reward is being offered for information on multiple dog poisonings in northern Wisconsin.  Authorities are offering a cash reward to anyone who can supply information that leads to an arrest.  Three family dogs and several other wild animals have been poisoned by the same substance, which is an unknown poison.  The dog deaths were reported in Bayfield, Marinette and Florence counties.

WI NATIONAL GUARD INVESTIGATING SEXUAL ASSAULT COMPLAINTS

The National Guard’s special investigations office is taking a look at sexual assault complaints inside the Wisconsin National Guard.  The National Guard Bureau’s Office of Complex Investigations this week said it’s going to explore allegations against a Madison-based unit.  Wisconsin Guard commanders say they’ve found 52 reports of sexual assault from 2013 to 2017.

TITLETOWN PREPARES FOR TRUMP

President Trump is coming to Green Bay, and the city is trying to get ready.  Ashwaubenon Public Safety says they will be closing several roads ahead of tomorrow’s rally at the Resch Center.  The doors open at 4 p.m., and the rally starts at 7 p.m.  Police are asking people for patience as they get to and from the rally.

WI LEGISLATURES STIR THE POT

Walking around with small amounts of marijuana will still be a crime in Wisconsin.  Republicans at the Capitol in Madison yesterday said they will not move forward with Governor Tony Evers’ plan to decriminalize small amounts of pot.  Budget architect State Senator Alberta Darling said the governor’s plan is ‘off the wall.’

ARCADIA SCHOOL RECEIVES THREATS

Police are continuing to investigate threats that were sent to several students at Arcadia High School.  The district administrator says the students got threatening emails yesterday morning but the messages came from a student not in the school district.  That school district was notified as well as police and it was determined there was no immediate threat.
