A new show choir in Chippewa Falls is helping out kids with special needs.  Hearts and Harmony is the first ever show choir created for kids with special needs in the Chippewa Falls area and will kick off its season in January.  The creator of the choir says one of the main goals is to bring kids who may struggle with isolation together so they can develop friendships.  The choir is holding a breakfast benefit to raise money this Saturday

HEAVY HEARTS AS FUNERALS BEGIN FOR VICTIMS OF HIT AND RUN

As families, friends, and our community mourns, funerals begin for the victims of a Lake Hallie hit-and-run crash. Today at the Chippewa Valley Bible Church in Chippewa Falls, 10 year-old Haylee Hickle’s funeral will be held-along with her mothers, 32-year-old Sara Schneider’s as well. Ten-year-old Autumn Helgeson’s funeral will be held at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls.  Our hearts and prayers are with the families.

Incumbent Karen Hepfler is keeping her job as theChippewa County Clerk of courts.  The Democrat defeated Republican NathanLiedl by nearly two thousand votes.  Democratic Sheriff Jim Kowalczyk willalso stay on the job after his victory over Republican Travis Hakes.

NOT JUST BLOWING SMOKE

The numbers have been rolled out and we are not just blowing smoke.  The results are in and Eau Claire County voters support legalizing cannabis.  Nearly 26-thousand voters were in favor of cannabis being legal for adults 21 and older for medicinal and recreational use.  Almost 15-thousand voters said cannabis should only be legal for medical purposes, while just under seven-thousand voted to keep cannabis as a criminally illegal drug.

PLANS MARCH FORWARD FOR EC VETERANS PARK

Eau Claire County isgoing ahead with plans for a new veterans park.  The county board approved450-thousand dollars to go to the Eau Claire Veterans Tribute Foundation to beused to create the park.  The park will be located north of Phoenix Parkalong Forest Street in the City of Eau Claire.  The total cost isestimated at over one-million dollars.

IT’S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE…

We are getting closer to the most wonderful time of the year. This year’s Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is being cut down north of New York City. The giant Norway Spruce from Orange County is scheduled to be cut down today and make a 75-mile trip on a special flat bed truck.  Like previous Rockefeller Center trees, it’ll be adorned in 50-thousand LED lights and a new crystal star before the November 28th tree-lighting.

Attorney General Brad Schimel says though it appearshis opponent Josh Kaul has won the election, he is awaiting other votes to becounted before he concedes.  Kaul claimed victory this morning, butSchimel says he wants to know what happened with the absentee ballots inMilwaukee County and wants all military ballots counted.  The AttorneyGeneral says if the margin does not substantially change once that’s done, hewill concede and assist Kaul with a smooth transition.

ROLLING OUT SUPPORT FOR MARIJUANA

Aneffort to show broad support to legalize marijuana for medical use appears tohave made its point.  Voters in ten Wisconsin countiesendorsed legalizing medical marijuana by an 80-20 margin yesterday.  Thevote doesn’t change any laws, but illustrates support for the proposal acrossthe state.
