The number of uninsured Wisconsin kids isn’t dropping,even with a healthy economy. A report from the Georgetown University Center for Children and Families says the problems are bigger than the Wisconsin economy. From 2016 to 2017, the number of uninsured Wisconsin children under 19 increased from 50-thousand to 53-thousand. The report says anti-immigrant rhetoric and news of potential cuts to the Affordable Care Act are possible reasons behind the increase in uninsured children in Wisconsin and around the nation.

The train is decked out for the holidays, and includes a band that sings Christmas classics. Police say they pulled over 22-year-old Betheny Stensven Wednesday and found three young children in the back seat. A K-9 alerted deputies to the presence of meth in the car which was found and Stensven and a 27-year-old man were arrested. Stensven is facing three charges in relation to the incident while the man is facing just two misdemeanors.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to 50-year-old Eric Schueller’s house Tuesday on a report that he had blown his hand off. When police arrived they say Schueller had injuries consistent with and explosion and he was taken to Regions Hospital in life-threatening condition. Bomb technicians have since removed all explosive materials from the man’s house.
